About the role

Reed is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing business in County Durham.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy, supportive finance team, with the role available due to internal promotion — offering genuine progression potential.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time, while helping keep day-to-day finance operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of invoices (matching, coding, posting)
  • Resolving invoice queries with suppliers and internal teams
  • Supporting intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Maintaining records across multiple sites
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Assisting with general finance duties as needed

About you

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant / finance role
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Confident using Excel and finance systems
  • Able to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and a good communicator
