The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join a well-established and dynamic internal IT team based in Lewes. Reporting to the Network Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting and evolving a large-scale enterprise network estate.

This is a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to work across WAN, LAN, WLAN, and network security, while contributing to both operational support and project-based network improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN connectivity across multiple locations
  • Deploy, configure, and support edge routers and security firewalls
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of network solutions
  • Monitor network health, performance, and overall environment stability
  • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Support development of network standards, configurations, and best practices
  • Assist with hardware lifecycle planning and replacement strategies
  • Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and procedures
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide on-site support and installations when required
  • Ensure adherence to organisational policies and security standards

Skills & Experience Required

  • CCNA (or equivalent certification) – essential
  • CCNP – highly desirable
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale network environments
  • Strong background with:
    • Firewalls & VPNs (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint)
    • Routing protocols & network design principles
    • WAN technologies and monitoring
    • Campus LAN and Wi-Fi networks
    • QoS in WAN/LAN environments
  • Experience with SD-WAN (Arista preferred)
  • Knowledge of Cisco wireless networks (Juniper exposure beneficial)
  • Excellent network troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience using tools for traffic analysis, performance monitoring, and capacity planning
