We are seeking a Senior Information Governance Officer to join a Corporate Information Governance Team within a public sector organisation. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in handling sensitive information and compliance with Information Governance standards such as Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Caldicott Principles, Records Management, Information Sharing, and Information Security.
Day-to-day of the role:
Lead the process for Data Subject Access Requests, including accessing both computerised and manual records/files, preparing information for release in compliance with Data Protection legislation, and redacting sensitive information as necessary.
Utilise electronic redaction systems to make informed decisions regarding the redaction of third-party, sensitive, and confidential information.
Handle CCTV Data Subject Access Requests, preparing and releasing footage in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
Assist in coordinating responses to general data protection enquiries, including the administration and preparation of information for external agency viewings where required.
Maintain the Corporate Information Governance Team’s schedule of disposed archive files.
Provide advice and guidance on archives procedures and systems to staff across the organisation as needed.
Scan and index reopened archive case files into an electronic format when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with public and service user information.
In-depth knowledge of information rights legislation, including Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Familiarity with general information security and information governance practices.
Experience in records/archives management practices.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and achieve statutory deadlines and performance targets.
