Senior Accountant

Reed Finance are recruiting on behalf of a real estate family office, who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping who has a keen eye for detail and is looking to work in a professional family office environment.
The successful candidate will manage accounting records, perform financial processing, and maintain systems for accuracy across multiple entities.
Family office or SME investment/property and Xero experience are a must plus you must be a fully qualified Accountant to apply for this role. This is an initial temporary to permanent opportunity so only individuals who are immediately available or on short notice can be considered.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain and manage accounting records across multiple entities using Xero & Sage 50.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and process all supplier and sales invoices accurately and timely.
- Manage both debtor and creditor ledgers, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and queries are resolved promptly.
- Handle payment processing including supplier payments, employee expenses, and electronic payment runs.
- Prepare VAT returns, monthly expense reports, annual budgets, and periodic forecasts.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and liaise with banks, auditors, and other stakeholders as required.
- Provide comprehensive administrative and finance support to the Family Office team, including ad hoc duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-4 years post-qualification experience either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Strong experience with Xero and Sage 50 Accounting Software.
- Proficient in bank reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoice processing, and month-end procedures.
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Experience in a Family Office, investment company, property business, or professional services environment is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and within a small team.
- Professional and discreet, capable of handling confidential information with integrity.
