Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Economics to individuals, groups, and classes
- Set clear learning objectives and use effective strategies to support progress across all ability levels
- Monitor and assess student performance accurately, setting targets and implementing strategies to raise attainment
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including high achievers, underperforming students, EAL learners, and those with SEND
- Contribute to enriching the curriculum through diverse and inclusive content
Student Progress & Achievement
- Track student progress and use assessment data to inform teaching and intervention
- Provide constructive feedback and communicate effectively with students, parents, and carers
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes in Economics qualifications
Classroom Management & Collaboration
- Create a positive learning environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, share resources, and develop best practice
- Deploy support staff effectively, where appropriate
Professional Responsibilities
- Contribute to school development by supporting policies, initiatives, and improvement plans
- Engage in ongoing professional development and remain up-to-date with subject and pedagogical developments
- Uphold the highest standards of teaching, learning, and professional conduct

- Maintain a stimulating classroom environment that promotes effective learning
- Organise and manage teaching resources efficiently to support a purposeful learning space
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have strong subject knowledge in Economics
- Demonstrate a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
- Be an effective communicator with strong organisational skills
- Show enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a team
- Be dedicated to supporting student progress and wellbeing
