Temporary Sea Freight Specialist

Location: Hounslow, West London

My client is seeking an experienced Sea Freight Specialist to join their Hounslow-based team on a temporary basis for approximately one month. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable freight professional to support day-to-day operations and provide additional expertise to a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Supervising Shipments
    Oversee the planning and execution of sea freight shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring efficiency and compliance with marine regulations.

  • Full-Cycle Export Operations
    Manage end-to-end export sea freight processes, including the preparation and verification of all shipping documentation.

  • Shipment Management
    Take ownership of shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring timelines are met and any issues are proactively resolved.

  • Coordination & Communication
    Liaise professionally with clients, shipping lines, agents, and customs brokers to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.

  • Compliance & Documentation
    Ensure all shipments adhere to international shipping regulations and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

Additional Duties

  • Provide support and guidance to a new team member across air freight and road freight operations where required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in sea freight operations (essential)
  • Working knowledge of CNS and Destin8 systems (essential)
  • Understanding of air freight and road freight processes (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
