My specialist, market leading client, located in Birchwood, Warrington, are currently looking to recruit a Purchasing & Import Administrator on a 12-month fixed term contract, potentially the contract will lead to a permanent position for the successful candidate.

The successful Purchasing & Import Administrator will ideally have purchasing administration experience or experience within supply chain administration, as you will be raising and managing purchase orders with suppliers and preparing import related documentation.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Salary - £27,830
  • Working Hours – Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm (45 Mins Lunch), Friday 8:30am to 2:30pm (20 Mins Lunch) – 36.5 hour week - 100% office based
  • Location – Birchwood, Warrington
  • Holidays – 22 days plus bank holidays (can apply for additional 5 days holiday)

Responsibilities:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders with suppliers. 
  • Maintain a positive relationship with suppliers to ensure orders are processed and delivered in a timely manner.  
  • Update our internal system with confirmed dates for raw materials and update the sales team of any changes to delivery dates.  
  • Book in stock on arrival, dealing with any queries with the external warehouse. 
  • Prepare documentation for customs import clearance
  • Manage stock holding requirements, liaise with the external team and product managers to ensure stock is on the ground when necessary. 
  • Arrange transport for purchase orders and negotiate with various transport suppliers to ensure the best price and service.  
  • Assist the sales team with arranging direct deliveries to customers.  
  • Ensure stock is accurate and reconciliations with the warehouse are up to date.
  • Other Administration duties

Specification:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent IT User (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Experience in purchasing and import is desirable but not necessary, candidates with experience in a similar role will be considered. 
  • Someone with a positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the business
