The Opportunity

We’re currently working with a leading engineering & manufacturing organisation to recruit a Project Engineer to deliver high-value CAPEX projects in a complex engineering environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of multi-million-pound projects, driving them from concept through to completion, while working closely with senior stakeholders and influencing business-wide improvements.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the technical delivery of CAPEX projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Defining project scope, timelines, and technical specifications
  • Managing project budgets and cost justifications
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring full HSE compliance
  • Producing engineering drawings (AutoCAD / SolidWorks)
  • Ensuring compliance with Machinery Directive, LOLER, PUWER, and L8 regulations
  • Coordinating internal teams and external contractors
  • Delivering project updates and presentations to senior leadership
  • Supporting smooth handover to maintenance teams with full documentation

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with Project Engineers who have:

  • Proven experience delivering engineering or CAPEX projects
  • Strong organisational and project planning skills
  • Experience managing budgets and timelines
  • A solid understanding of health & safety regulations within manufacturing
  • The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exposure to large-scale equipment such as hydraulic presses or industrial furnaces would be beneficial, although other experience may be considered

Desirable Experience

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Experience delivering £1m+ projects
  • PRINCE2 / PMI certification
  • IOSH qualification
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment (presses, furnaces, etc.)
  • Experience with MS Project and CAD software
