Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is looking to appoint a Production Planner to join their team in Winsford. This is a key role focused on ensuring production operations run efficiently, meeting customer demand while balancing materials, capacity, and logistics.

The Role

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules and delivery plans to ensure orders are completed on time and in line with operational requirements. You’ll work closely with production, logistics, and purchasing teams to maintain seamless workflow across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure timely material availability
  • Analyse order patterns, forecasts, and historical data to support planning decisions
  • Plan and coordinate transport and delivery schedules using the company fleet
  • Monitor work-in-progress and adjust plans to reflect changing priorities
  • Liaise across production, logistics, and customer service teams to communicate updates
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts
  • Produce reports on performance, delays, and operational issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and manufacturing processes

About You

  • Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong transport planning or delivery coordination experience
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong data analysis capability
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of construction products, joinery, or similar sectors is advantageous
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles would be beneficial
