Reed Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with PMLD in a primary school in Plymouth.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting a pupil working at foundation level, requiring a nurturing and adaptable approach to meet complex learning and developmental needs.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with profound and multiple learning difficulties
Delivering tailored activities aligned to foundation level learning
Supporting communication, sensory engagement and physical development
Assisting with personal care where required
Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement individual support plans
Creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex additional needs
Be patient, calm and highly empathetic
Be confident working at a foundation or early developmental level
Have an understanding of sensory approaches and differentiated learning
Be comfortable supporting personal care needs
Be able to build strong and consistent relationships
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
