The successful candidate will deliver a highly personalised curriculum, adapting learning to meet individual needs. This may include blending National Curriculum expectations with EYFS-based approaches where appropriate.

You will work collaboratively with support staff to create a structured, nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports pupils’ communication, sensory and developmental needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with experience in SEN, specialist settings, or alternative curriculum provision who is seeking a permanent role from September in a supportive school environment.

  • Lead teaching and learning within a small specialist class of pupils with additional needs
  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging and accessible lessons informed by EHCP outcomes
  • Adapt curriculum delivery to include developmental and EYFS-based approaches where required
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure consistent and effective classroom support
  • Implement SEN-specific strategies such as visual supports, structured routines and sensory approaches
  • Support pupils with a range of communication needs using appropriate tools and strategies
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and external professionals
  • Contribute to a supportive, inclusive and pupil-centred school environment
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour and interventions

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, ideally including ASC and/or complex needs
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills within a structured and supportive environment
  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and personalised learning

Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

All roles are subject to:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Right to work checks
  • Satisfactory references
