We are seeking a highly organised Payroll & Accounts Administrator to join a dynamic and fast-paced business. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting the wider accounts function across multiple live projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare and process payroll data for circa 70 PAYE employees, ensuring accuracy prior to submission to external accountants.
Collate and verify employee working hours, inputting data into payroll systems and job sheets for payment and invoicing.
Manage payroll compliance, including PAYE, NI contributions, statutory deductions, and AEOs.
Process employee expenses, including fuel costs and project-related claims.
Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Assist with invoicing, ensuring accurate billing across multiple projects with varying payment terms.
Produce quotes for new and incoming business.
Maintain financial records and support reporting using Sage.
Reconcile payroll and accounts data, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Coordinate operational requirements such as accommodation bookings, hire vehicles, and project logistics.
Provide flexible support across finance and admin functions to ensure smooth project delivery.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and payroll data.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in a Payroll & Accounts Administrator or similar dual-role position.
Strong understanding of UK payroll processes and basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in Sage (essential).
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Proactive and adaptable approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Professional and discreet when handling confidential information.
Full UK driving licence (preferred).
