We are seeking an experienced, caring, and dynamic Nursery Manager to lead our supportive early years team. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes outstanding early development and learning for all children.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to staff.
  • Ensure high-quality learning and development for children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Plan, implement, and oversee engaging and stimulating activities that support children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to support each child’s individual needs.
  • Monitor, observe, and evaluate children’s progress, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Manage staff performance, recruitment, and ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements at all times.
  • Oversee administrative duties, including budgeting, staffing levels, and nursery operations.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional well-being.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working within a nursery or early years setting, including leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 minimum; Level 5 or above desirable).
  • Safeguarding knowledge and experience.
