We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join our expanding team. This part-time position is ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about music and has the ability to engage and inspire students at both KS3 and KS4 levels. The role involves working alongside another Head of Department in a vibrant department that is growing due to an increased uptake of music at GCSE.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring music lessons that cater to the needs of all students at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback to foster a positive and constructive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the other Head of Department to develop curriculum materials and coordinate activities and events that promote music within the school.
  • Engage students with a variety of teaching methods that encourage participation and develop student skills in music.
  • Organise performances and work with students on public showcases to enhance their learning experience and confidence in their musical abilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and examination requirements for music.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching music at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching standards.
  • Ability to create and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
