About the Role
An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting budget holders, and delivering high-quality reporting to inform decision-making.
You’ll play an integral part in maintaining accurate financial records, analysing performance, and supporting the implementation of a new finance system over the coming months.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Reporting
Produce detailed monthly management accounts, comparing actual performance against forecasts and prior year results
Investigate and explain variances in collaboration with budget holders
Review cost centres post month-end, ensuring accurate coding and correcting discrepancies
Distribute and manage quarterly budget templates
Lead monthly finance review meetings with stakeholders across the organisation
Provide training on financial processes, systems, and coding structures
Support team continuity by assisting colleagues across the finance function when required
Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnering
Work closely with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecast performance
Identify and resolve financial variances in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with financial policies, including purchase orders and expense procedures
Prepare and present financial insights to senior leadership to support strategic decisions
Financial Analysis & Projects
Ensure accurate reconciliation of income and costs, particularly in relation to benefits and funding streams
Develop and improve processes for recharge and cost allocation
Contribute to system and process improvement projects, including financial system implementation
Support initiatives to improve income tracking and arrears management
Payroll Support (Desirable)
Assist with payroll data preparation and processing
Support statutory payroll reporting requirements (HMRC compliance)
