Reed in Teesside are seeking a dedicated and confident Legal Secretary to join our clients Criminal Team! This role is ideal for someone who is organised, accurate, and proactive, with excellent typing skills and a positive approach to working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Manage diaries and schedule appointments.
Submit bills into the Legal Aid Portal.
Perform high-volume audio typing.
Handle sending and receiving emails.
Arrange travel and manage logistics.
Maintain client contact and liaise with internal staff and external parties.
Draft legal documents and perform general administrative duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Background in crime and/or legal work is essential.
Educated to GCSE levels 4-9, A to C, or higher (equivalent qualifications accepted).
Proficient and accurate typing skills.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Good base level of IT skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to handle potentially distressing matters due to the nature of the criminal law area.

Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service.
Note: The office is closed between Christmas and New Year, using three holiday days.
