Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Sutton & Merton
Pay Rate: £85 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and welcoming primary school community across Sutton and Merton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils’ academic progress and personal development within a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of engaging lessons alongside the class teacher
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with SEND
- Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times
- Contribute to the wider school community and daily school activities
Requirements:
- Experience working within a primary school or educational setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
