Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Sutton & Merton
Pay Rate: £85 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and welcoming primary school community across Sutton and Merton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils’ academic progress and personal development within a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of engaging lessons alongside the class teacher
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with SEND
  • Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times
  • Contribute to the wider school community and daily school activities

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a primary school or educational setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
