Building Services Engineer Location: Kingston-upon-Thames Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per annum Contract: Full time, Permanent Hours: Monday – Friday, 07.30 -16.00 (early finish on Fridays. On call 1 week in every 8-10 weeks £300, extra for call outs. My client a University in Kingston upon Thames is looking to recruit Building services engineers to work within the maintenance Team. You will be responsible for performing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on-site, using the PDA and Planon system to ensure the university remains fully operational. Responsibilities: Plumbing Maintenance: Address and resolve plumbing issues to keep all facilities functional. Mechanical Troubleshooting: Apply your mechanical expertise to diagnose and repair various systems. Technical Interpretation: Understand and interpret logic controllers and building drawings to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs. Supervision: Oversee maintenance tasks and manage contractors to ensure work is completed to high standards. Problem Solving: Tackle technical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to university operations. Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to university students and staff, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently. Candidate Specification: The ideal candidate will be a proactive and skilled professional, dedicated to maintaining and repairing building systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Experience: At least 5 years of maintenance experience (preferred). Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Communication Skills: Proficient in English for clear and effective communication. Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their maintenance. Technical Skills: Experience with logic controllers and the ability to interpret building operation and maintenance manuals (O&Ms). Role – Building & Fire Safety Administrator Location – Manchester City Centre Salary - £27,000 Type – Permanent Hours – 9am-5.30pm // Monday-Friday Reed are currently working with market-leading residential & commercial property services who are looking to recruit an administrator for their team in Manchester. In this role you will provide support in answering building and fire safety enquiries, arising from monitoring the Fire Safety Enquiries Inbox and referrals from other team members. You will support colleagues across the division and wider organisation, ensuring safe environments for commercial and residential occupiers, visitors and employees. Key responsibilities: Monitor and respond to enquiries on the Fire Safety inbox, ensuring prompt and efficient response. Undertake low level investigations in relation to fire incidents. Raising complex cases with senior management and discussing relevant actions Adopt a proactive approach to the identification of fire safety related risk, taking appropriate action on a case by case basis. Liaising with Property Managers to obtain information and instruct on procedures Work with and support colleagues from across the division with issues of fire and structural safety, travelling to site when required. Draft reports as required. Access data management systems to review, retrieve and update documents, as required. Keep informed of any changes in relevant legislation and guidance by undertaking regular CPD. Undertake occasional building inspections, identify and evaluate areas of fire safety related risk and escalate findings to the Fire Safety Manager. Provide assistance to the team where required in relation to registrations, requests for further information and submissions of Building Safety Cases under the Building Safety Act 2022.
