The Opportunity

An established and growing wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) to take ownership of a significant, pre-existing client portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to inherit a well-maintained client bank and focus on delivering high-quality, holistic financial planning advice, while also identifying opportunities for growth and strengthening long-term client relationships.

The business is specifically looking for a remote-based IFA to manage and develop its East Midlands client base. While this is a home-based role, there will be a requirement for ad hoc travel to the firm’s head office in Birmingham, typically around once per month.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing an existing portfolio of clients, providing tailored financial advice, and supporting individuals in achieving their long-term financial goals.

Key areas of advice will include:

  • Investment planning
  • Pensions and retirement strategies
  • Protection solutions
  • Estate and intergenerational planning (where appropriate)

You will be supported by a dedicated paraplanning and client services team, ensuring you can focus on delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of an established client bank and ensure a smooth transition
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through regular engagement
  • Deliver personalised, compliant financial advice aligned with client objectives
  • Conduct fact-finds, risk profiling, and suitability assessments
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue within the existing client base
  • Generate new business through referrals and professional connections
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure audit-ready documentation
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including paraplanners, compliance, and operations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4 minimum)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Adviser managing a client portfolio
  • Strong technical knowledge across investments, pensions, and protection
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of FCA compliance requirements
  • Experience using CRM and financial planning systems

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Chartered status (or working towards)
  • Experience acquiring or transitioning client banks
  • Knowledge of estate and inheritance tax planning

What’s on Offer

  • Up to £60k base + commission structure
  • Immediate access to a substantial, serviced client bank
  • Full paraplanning and administrative support
  • Opportunity to grow revenue within an established book
  • Strong emphasis on client outcomes and high-quality advice
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
