The Opportunity

An established and growing wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) to take ownership of a significant, pre-existing client portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to inherit a well-maintained client bank and focus on delivering high-quality, holistic financial planning advice, while also identifying opportunities for growth and strengthening long-term client relationships.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing an existing portfolio of clients, providing tailored financial advice, and supporting individuals in achieving their long-term financial goals.

Key areas of advice will include:

  • Investment planning
  • Pensions and retirement strategies
  • Protection solutions
  • Estate and intergenerational planning (where appropriate)

You will be supported by a dedicated paraplanning and client services team, ensuring you can focus on delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of an established client bank and ensure a smooth transition
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through regular engagement
  • Deliver personalised, compliant financial advice aligned with client objectives
  • Conduct fact-finds, risk profiling, and suitability assessments
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue within the existing client base
  • Generate new business through referrals and professional connections
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure audit-ready documentation
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including paraplanners, compliance, and operations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4 minimum)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Adviser managing a client portfolio
  • Strong technical knowledge across investments, pensions, and protection
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of FCA compliance requirements
  • Experience using CRM and financial planning systems

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Chartered status (or working towards)
  • Experience acquiring or transitioning client banks
  • Knowledge of estate and inheritance tax planning
