Join our client's dynamic freight forwarding business as an Operations Assistant, where you will work closely with the Operations Manager and gain comprehensive exposure to the day-to-day operations of the industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to develop their skills in logistics and operations management.
Day-to-day of the role:
Support the operations team with the receipt and processing of import shipments.
Receive and distribute critical documentation from clients and partners.
Utilise the operations system to book import shipments, arrange releases/deliveries, and monitor expected arrivals.
Update partners and clients with changes in schedules and liaise with different operational teams.
Generate performance and tracking reports and prepare import customs paperwork.
Process purchase and sales invoices.
Perform administrative duties such as answering the phone and general office ad hoc duties.
Help deliver excellent customer service to clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage workload effectively.
Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
Hardworking and capable of working independently as well as under instruction.
Professional manner and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
