We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to join our team in Manchester. This role is crucial in contributing to the delivery of neighbourhoods of choice by providing a comprehensive range of flexible, responsive, and planned statutory front-line services for residents, businesses, and visitors. The successful candidate will act as a key contact for a geographical patch of housing stock, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused support to improve the local environment and resident satisfaction.
Day-to-day of the role:
Provide a wide range of resident-focused services to ensure residents can maintain their tenancy and live in a safe, clean environment.
Serve as the main contact for a specific geographical patch of housing stock, handling all tenancy and estate management matters.
Liaise effectively with internal and external colleagues to deliver excellent services for residents.
Apply a range of knowledge, technical expertise, and skills to support and safeguard residents and achieve neighbourhoods of choice.
Work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective partnerships and greater coordinated working with other agencies to ensure effective resident outcomes.
Be proactive in identifying and supporting the implementation of change, modernisation, and improvements in support of organisational and Housing Services strategies.
Through personal example, open commitment, and clear action, ensure diversity is positively valued, resulting in equal access and treatment in employment, service delivery, and communications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in housing or estate management.
Strong knowledge of tenancy and estate management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement.
Understanding of the impact of work on the city council's corporate aims and objectives.
