We are seeking a dedicated Housing Manager to lead and manage a customer-focused housing and neighbourhood management service. This role is crucial in ensuring high performance and excellent service delivery across various areas such as income collection, empty homes, tenancy management, and partnership working. The successful candidate will coordinate the work of the service area and ensure resources are optimally allocated.
Day-to-day of the role:
Lead the delivery of a holistic housing management service, ensuring a focus on high performance and customer satisfaction.
Provide effective line management to staff, offering support and guidance in managing caseloads and complex cases, including issues related to antisocial behaviour, debt management, and mental health.
Undertake formal duties in compliance with housing legislation, addressing housing fraud, and managing leaseholder services.
Plan, coordinate, and deploy resources to meet team and business demands effectively.
Work collaboratively with Neighbourhood Service Managers and other Housing Managers to monitor, analyse, and implement service improvements.
Prepare and present professional reports and communications on key issues for both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure performance reporting is accurate and up-to-date.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven track record of achieving targets and goals within operational plans.
Strong understanding of budgetary control and proactive budget management.
Excellent planning skills with the ability to reprioritise workloads to respond to emerging issues and changing priorities.
Experience in advising staff on non-routine Housing Management decisions, with the ability to seek guidance when necessary.
Competence in handling staff management issues in line with HR policies and procedures.
