💰 Rate: £31.33 per hour PAYE / £39.99 per hour Umbrella
About the Role
A local authority in Maidenhead is seeking an experienced Housing & Public Protection Business Improvement Manager to join their team on an interim basis. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving service improvement, managing operational support functions, and delivering transformation across Housing and Public Protection services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Housing & Public Protection business support function, including:
Business support team
Analysts
Housing complaints and review officer
Take accountability for service performance, ensuring delivery against key objectives and standards.
Lead and oversee transformation and improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.
Support the strategic leadership and operational delivery of Housing and Public Protection services.
Act as a key member of the management team, contributing to service planning, performance, and decision-making.
Provide direct support to the Assistant Director for Housing and Public Protection, including:
Project delivery
Operational improvements
Service development
About You
We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with:
Strong leadership experience within local authority, housing, or public protection services
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrable experience in business improvement and transformation projects
Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience managing complaints, performance, or operational support functions within a public service environment
Working Arrangements
Hybrid working model (combination of office-based in Maidenhead and remote working)
