The Role – HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
As an experienced HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
This role would suit candidates with experience as a: HGV Technician | HGV Mechanic | HGV Fitter | Heavy Vehicle Technician | Fleet Technician
Key Responsibilities
Carry out fault diagnosis and diagnostic testing on HGVs and fleet vehicles
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
Complete full servicing, inspections, and MOT preparation
Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in line with compliance standards
Accurately identify, report, and rectify faults
Maintain clear and detailed maintenance records and job documentation
Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and manufacturer guidelines
Work efficiently in a busy workshop / haulage environment
Salary & Benefits
£17.00 – £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Monday to Friday, Day Shift (7:30am – 5:00pm)
Alternate Saturday rota

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) or a completed apprenticeship
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter
Proven experience in HGV maintenance, servicing, and repairs
Experience in MOT preparation and inspections
Ability to complete job records accurately and efficiently
A strong focus on quality workmanship and safety standards
Desirable (not essential):
Class 1 or Class 2 (C or C+E) HGV Licence
MOT Smart Card / HGV MOT Tester qualification
