Job Title: HGV / Vehicle Technician

Location: Avonmouth
Salary: £22 per hour (Total annual salary: £46,046)
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off

Reporting To

Workshop Chargehand / Workshop or Service Manager

Role Objectives

  • Complete all servicing and maintenance work to the highest standard within manufacturer time schedules
  • Deliver a professional, high-quality performance in all work activities, contributing to customer satisfaction and retention
  • Support workshop colleagues with technical issues and continuous improvements
  • Carry out comprehensive fault diagnosis and repair of vehicle malfunctions
  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Accurately document results of diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and safety inspections
  • Promote a positive image of the product and after-sales service

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all work in line with manufacturer standards and instructions
  • Perform visual inspections, adjustments, and replacement of worn or defective components
  • Undertake retrofitting of accessories and removable body components
  • Identify and report abnormal wear and defects
  • Complete minor repairs independently and assist with complex repairs as required
  • Conduct major assembly work and repair operations on key components and units
  • Follow job card instructions and liaise with the workshop controller
  • Report any additional work or parts required promptly
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order
  • Keep work bays and workshop areas clean and organised
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and health & safety procedures
  • Complete ongoing technical training in line with manufacturer expectations
