Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience/qualifications)

Reed Accountancy Norwich are delighted to have been retained to recruit a Finance Officer to join our client in King’s Lynn. In this position, you will play a crucial role in managing all financial transactions within a collaborative and development focused environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Perform daily accounting and transaction processing including payroll, ledgers, invoices, reconciliations, and BACS processing.
Produce month-end reports on outstanding rates and manage ratepayer enquiries.
Handle registration and collection of Direct Debit payments, ensuring accurate allocation and addressing anomalies.
Maintain thorough documentation and audit trails, adhering to Financial Regulations.
Liaise with landowners, agents, auditors, and ratepayers, managing audit or inspection requirements.
Ensure prompt invoicing and collection of drainage rates and other charges.
Produce financial statements, monthly management accounts, and reports.
Support the Finance Department during periods of holiday and sickness, and undertake additional tasks as required by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
At least two years of relevant work experience in accounting, including sales ledger and credit control.
Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage workloads.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with accounting software like Sage 50/200.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A methodical approach to work with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Desirable:
Membership or qualifications from a professional body like AAT.
Experience covering additional accounting functions such as purchase ledger, costing, or payroll.
Knowledge of Direct Debit processing and public sector structure.
Other Job Information:
The role will initially focus on sales ledger and credit control, expanding to include other functions like purchase ledger.
Full training on the accounting software package will be provided.
