Digital Merchandising Assistant / E‑Commerce Marketplace Administrator
Dereham, Norfolk (Hybrid after probation)
A well-established, family-run business in Dereham is seeking a detail-oriented Digital Merchandising Assistant to join their growing marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience across multiple e-commerce platforms within a supportive and collaborative environment.
This role plays a key part in managing and optimising online product listings across a range of digital marketplaces, ensuring products are presented accurately, consistently, and effectively to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Product Listings & Catalogue Management
Upload and maintain product listings across platforms including Shopify, Amazon, eBay, OnBuy, Temu and others
Write and format clear, engaging and accurate product descriptions, specifications, and pricing
Create and manage product variants, tags, and collections
Ensure products are correctly categorised and easy to navigate
Content & Imagery
Resize, optimise and upload product images for performance and consistency
Ensure all imagery aligns with platform requirements and brand standards
Support with basic product photography and image selection where required
Platform Optimisation
Update keywords, search terms and SEO elements (meta titles, descriptions, alt text)
Monitor listing health and resolve issues such as suppressed or inactive listings
Continuously refine product titles, descriptions and pricing
Website & Channel Maintenance
Identify and correct formatting issues, broken links and inaccuracies
Maintain consistent branding and product data across all channels
Update stock availability and manage discontinued items
Performance & Improvements
Monitor product performance and identify underperforming listings
Review competitor activity to support pricing and content strategy
Track performance of new product launches
General Support
Assist with bulk uploads, seasonal updates and promotions
Maintain well-organised digital asset libraries (images, copy, templates)
Prepare and manage product data using spreadsheets and CSV files
Provide insight on updates, improvements and common customer queries
About You
Experience working with Shopify, Amazon, eBay or similar platforms (or a strong willingness to learn)
High attention to detail, particularly with data accuracy and pricing
Confident handling spreadsheets and structured data
Basic image editing or product photography skills (desirable)
Highly organised with the ability to manage routine tasks independently
Understanding of online customer behaviour
Positive, proactive approach and a strong team player
Additional Information
Hybrid working available upon successful completion of probation
Weekly on-site attendance in Dereham required
