We are working with a well-established Further Education provider in the London region seeking an experienced Department Manager for Travel & Tourism to lead and develop a dynamic curriculum area.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong background in FE or the travel and tourism sector, looking to drive student success, lead high-performing teams, and shape a forward-thinking curriculum.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the overall management and development of the Travel & Tourism provision, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in curriculum planning, quality improvement, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Travel & Tourism department, including curriculum delivery across a range of programmes
Drive student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression outcomes
Line manage and support teaching staff, including performance management and development
Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment standards are maintained
Develop and enhance employer engagement and industry links
Contribute to curriculum planning, innovation, and growth
Monitor and analyse performance data to inform improvements
Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with awarding bodies
About You
Proven experience teaching Travel & Tourism within Further Education
Experience in curriculum leadership, coordination, or management
Strong understanding of FE funding, quality assurance, and awarding bodies
Demonstrable ability to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
Passion for education and developing learner pathways into industry
