Car Finance Recovery Agent (Field-Based) Glasgow
Base salary £32,000 per annum (OTE £50,000)
Role Overview
We are seeking a confident, resilient, and professional Car Finance Recovery Agent to join our team. This role involves visiting customers at their homes to discuss overdue vehicle finance accounts, negotiate repayment solutions, and, where necessary, carry out lawful vehicle repossession.
The ideal candidate will be customer-focused while maintaining firm adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field visits to customers with outstanding or defaulted vehicle finance agreements
Engage with customers in a respectful and professional manner to resolve arrears
Negotiate repayment plans and settlements where appropriate
Assess individual situations and recommend suitable recovery actions
Carry out vehicle repossession in line with legal and company procedures when required
Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate records of all interactions
Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including consumer credit and repossession laws
Handle potentially sensitive or confrontational situations calmly and safely
Liaise with internal teams, including collections, legal, and asset management departments
Safeguard company assets and ensure secure transportation of repossessed vehicles where applicable

High level of emotional intelligence and customer awareness
Resilience and ability to work independently in the field
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
Knowledge of finance recovery processes (preferred but not essential)
Understanding of relevant legal/regulatory requirements (desirable)
Experience & Qualifications
Previous experience in collections, debt recovery, enforcement, or a similar field role is highly desirable
Experience in customer-facing or conflict-resolution roles beneficial
Full, clean driving licence and own vehicle required
Basic IT skills for reporting and communication
Relevant training or certification in enforcement or recovery (advantageous but not required)
Working Conditions
Primarily field-based with regular travel within a designated area
Flexible working hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
Exposure to potentially challenging situations in customers’ homes
