You’ll be the go-to person for everything from unlocking buildings and fixing furniture to supporting school events and responding to out-of-hours emergencies. It’s a role that keeps you moving, thinking, and making a real difference every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Security & Site Access

  • Lock and unlock buildings for daily use and special events
  • Be part of a keyholder rota, responding to alarms and callouts 
  • Carry out regular security checks and liaise with police or contractors when needed

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Tackle basic repairs: light bulbs, door handles, drains, furniture, and more
  • Paint, decorate, and help with improvement projects like shelving and noticeboards
  • Identify hazards and make safe — you’re the first line of defence against wear and tear

Facilities & Utilities

  • Support heating, lighting, and water systems, know your way around meters and isolation points
  • Keep records for energy use and report any issues

General Duties

  • Deliver parcels and move furniture around the site
  • Set up rooms for exams, meetings, and community events
  • Help manage lost property, post, stationery, and even college vehicles
  • Drive when needed (banking runs, minibus support, etc.)
  • Be ready to respond to emergencies like fire, flood, or break-ins

What You’ll Bring
