Buyer / Senior Buyer 

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
Location: Sutton (onsite role)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

We are recruiting for an experienced procurement professional to join an established and successful manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing supplier relationships, delivering cost efficiencies, and supporting operational performance within a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will take ownership of supplier performance and procurement activities, contributing to both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure high performance and reliability
  • Negotiating pricing and contracts to drive cost savings
  • Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers where required
  • Resolving supply chain issues and implementing preventative solutions
  • Supporting internal teams with new product development activities
  • Conducting supplier reviews and audits in collaboration with quality teams
  • Driving sustainability, continuous improvement, and lean initiatives
  • Occasional travel to visit supplier sites may be required.

About You

You will be a proactive and commercially minded procurement professional with strong negotiation skills and a structured, solutions-focused approach.

We’re looking for:

  • Experience in a purchasing or procurement role (manufacturing background preferred)
  • Highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Confident managing workloads and making sound independent decisions
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Ideally holding or working towards CIPS Level 4
