Reed Procurement are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer / Junior Buyer to join a busy procurement team within a manufacturing environment. This is a transactional, process-driven role with a strong focus on purchase order management, MRP system purchasing, and supplier coordination to support production activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their procurement career looking to develop within a supply chain function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise, process, and manage high volumes of purchase orders for materials using an MRP/ERP system
  • Monitor system-generated demand and convert requirements into timely purchase orders
  • Expedite orders with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered in line with production schedules
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data, supplier records, and system information
  • Liaise with internal teams (planning, production, finance) to ensure material availability and resolve queries
  • Track deliveries, resolve shortages, and manage invoice or pricing discrepancies
  • Support supplier communication, including obtaining quotations and tracking lead times
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels and supporting basic demand planning activities
  • Contribute to month-end processes, including reconciliation of purchase orders and goods received
  • Provide general administrative support to the procurement function

About You

  • Experience in a purchasing, procurement admin, or supply chain support role
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders and data
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly around delivery and supply issues
