Manchester City Council are looking for a Business Support Officer to join our team based at Philips Park Road, Beswick. This role is crucial for providing high-quality, customer-focused support, contributing significantly to the achievement of our service objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
Act as a key member of the team, ensuring the provision of high-quality business support.
Handle queries and correspondence efficiently and courteously, using tact and diplomacy with a wide range of internal and external customers.
Use initiative and established procedures to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate within agreed timescales.
Contribute to the accurate production of statistical data and other relevant information required for both statutory and non-statutory purposes.
Effectively identify, interpret, and extract information from various sources, using analytical skills to provide meaningful information to both internal and external customers.
Update and extract information from all management information systems accurately, including the retrieval and collation of reports to agreed standards.
Procure, monitor, and maintain office stationery and equipment, ensuring changes are made in line with procedures, budgets, and agreed timescales.
Contribute to the development, preparation, and review of all procedures and systems, aligning them to service needs and objectives.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the role of business support throughout the Council, providing cover and flexibility where required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in a business support role within a busy office environment.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle queries efficiently.
Strong analytical and information interpretation skills.
Competence in using management information systems and producing reports.
Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
A valid Standard DBS on the update service is required for this position.
