Finance Manager (Part-Time 30 hours per week)
Location: East Ipswich (Remote with site visits as required)
Salary: £48,000 pro rata (£32,000 per annum)
Contract: Part-time (4 days per week, 30 hours)
Reporting to: Group Finance Director
Systems: Sage 200, Sage Payroll
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to lead the finance function and support strategic growth across the group. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys contributing beyond finance into wider business operations, including HR and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Cash Flow Management
Oversee group cash flow, revenue forecasting, and remote banking activities
Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and forecasts
Lead month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
Review outsourced bookkeeping and payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance
Carry out payroll checks and manage expenses
Commercial & Strategic Support
Partner with Directors on business planning, investment decisions, and future growth
Provide insight into financial performance and identify opportunities for new revenue streams
Support strategic decision-making across the business
Operational Oversight
Manage supplier and contractor relationships
Oversee HR processes including contracts, disciplinary procedures, and employee matters (with external support where required)
Contribute to stock management and operational strategy
Team Leadership
Lead and support two direct reports within the finance team
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Key Requirements
Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role
Strong background across finance, HR, and business operations
Experience producing management accounts and forecasting
Proficient in Sage 200 and Sage Payroll
Confident overseeing outsourced finance functions
Comfortable working autonomously in a remote capacity, with occasional site visits
Must live within 1 hour of Woodbridge and have access to own transport, as the requirement for location is to ensure the ability to attend site quickly and easily when needed
