Job Type: Temporary (Approx 6-8 weeks) || Part time 4 days per week.
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established and highly regarded business that supports a portfolio of clients. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on accounting responsibilities alongside regular client interaction, offering a unique blend of technical and relational finance work.
Day-to-day of the role:
Take ownership of a portfolio and business accounts, ensuring financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant.
Manage full bookkeeping duties across sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers.
Handle invoicing and receipt processing.
Manage supplier payments and resolve any related queries.
Complete bank reconciliations, VAT accounting, and manage petty cash.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
Run Sage payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Prepare VAT and P11D returns, liaising with HMRC and external accountants.
Support cash flow monitoring and assist with year-end processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role.
Proficiency in using Sage Line 50 (or similar) and Excel.
Experience with payroll, VAT returns, and compliance reporting.
AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Ability to manage your own workload and communicate effectively with clients.
