A wonderful charity based near Brockley (SE4) are seeking a part time Bookkeeper (14 hours per week) for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready financial records. The successful candidate will take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations and core processes, ensuring all financial information is reliable and clearly documented for decision-making, audit, and regulatory review.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
Maintain organised and complete financial records using XERO.
Process purchase invoices, manage payments, and issue rent invoices.
Monitor incoming income and ensure correct allocation of receipts.
Complete regular bank reconciliations and manage the finance email inbox.
Produce draft management accounts, including income, expenditure, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Work with the CEO to prepare the annual draft budget and quarterly forecasts.
Maintain audit-ready records and ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ hands-on bookkeeping experience.
Experience using Xero (desirable)
Full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and preparation of management accounts.
Experience working to tight monthly deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Compliance and Safeguarding:
Enhanced DBS check required.
Understanding of working within a regulated, safeguarding-led environment.
