We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing and ambitious manufacturing business in a senior leadership capacity.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will drive revenue growth through the development and execution of the company’s sales strategy, while leading the Sales & Marketing team and expanding into new markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven individual with strong technical awareness and a background in engineering or manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a clear business development and sales strategy aligned with growth objectives
Lead, coach, and manage the Sales Team to deliver on targets and drive continuous improvement
Identify and secure new business opportunities across targeted sectors and geographic markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and OEM clients
Manage the full sales lifecycle from enquiry through to order placement
Work closely with internal technical and production teams to deliver tailored solutions
Oversee marketing activities, including branding, communications, and industry events
Prepare and present professional proposals and presentations to clients
Ensure all sales activity is commercially viable and within agreed budgets
Contribute to overall company strategy as part of the senior leadership team
About You
Proven experience in a senior business development or sales leadership role within manufacturing or engineering
Demonstrated track record of delivering sustained revenue growth
Experience working with OEM customers and complex engineered products
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer needs and profitability
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
Self-motivated and results-driven with a strategic mindset
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of engineering principles
Experience within quarrying, agricultural, or waste machinery sectors (advantageous)
Experience developing international markets
Proven success delivering both individual and team targets
Experience creating and executing sales strategies within engineering/manufacturing
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, production, and finance teams
Willingness to travel as required
Full, clean driving licence
Proficient in standard business IT systems
