We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to build and test a range of precision, tight-tolerance electro-mechanical assemblies and laboratory instruments. The role involves working to detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality output, delivered right first time.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble complex electro-mechanical units (up to 150 components per build) in line with engineering drawings and build instructions
Work across multiple product lines, demonstrating flexibility to switch between different assemblies
Handle small, delicate components with accuracy and care
Interpret engineering drawings, with a clear understanding of tolerances and critical dimensions
Test and inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are consistently met
Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Maintain high attention to detail, ensuring excellent workmanship at all times
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to increase efficiency and productivity
Skills & Experience
Essential
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering, instrumentation, or assembly environment
Ability to work with small components requiring a high level of dexterity
Strong understanding of health and safety practices, including risk assessments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g. micrometers, digital callipers)
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Experience in fault finding and troubleshooting
Desirable
A-Level (or equivalent) in Maths, Physics, or an Engineering-related subject
Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent)
