The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist or Applications Specialist to join a Field Applications team as a Field Applications Scientist. This role sits within a dynamic field-based group responsible for delivering high-quality technical and applications support across centralised laboratory solutions, with a strong focus on biochemistry platforms.

You will join a collaborative and experienced team supporting primarily the Greater London area, with occasional travel across the wider South region. The team plays a critical role in ensuring successful system implementation, delivering expert customer training, resolving complex technical issues, and building strong, lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

As a Field Applications Scientist, you will:

  • Support the installation, configuration, and validation of analytical systems
  • Deliver high-quality customer training tailored to laboratory users
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and applications support
  • Assist with software updates, system optimisation, and product maintenance
  • Support sales activities through demonstrations, technical input, and tender responses
  • Build strong relationships with laboratory stakeholders, ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction

  • Have a strong understanding of the IVD/diagnostics industry
  • Bring experience from a hospital laboratory or a diagnostics/applications support environment
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Be highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
