Reed Accountancy is proud to represent an established and reputable company in Belfast City Centre who are seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team, supporting their accountancy function.

This is a perfect opportunity for an Accounts Assistant seeking part-time hours across 5-days within a supportive working environment. You will be responsible for supporting daily financial operations, including banking, payments, invoicing, and ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Day-to-day of the role:

Banking & Receipts

  • Monitor accounts, record incoming funds, and reconcile daily transactions
  • Process lodgements and update financial records

Payments

  • Process and verify payments in line with company procedures
  • Execute authorised transactions accurately and on time

Invoicing & Ledgers

  • Support invoice processing and ensure accurate allocation of payments
  • Maintain ledgers and resolve account queries
  • Monitor work in progress and process approved adjustments

Purchase Ledger

  • Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements
  • Manage supplier payments and online accounts

Expenses & Petty Cash

  • Administer petty cash and reconcile balances
  • Review and process expense claims

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s previous experience in a dedicated finance/book-keeping role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
