Overview

This is a great qualification to prepare you for junior and entry level accounting roles giving a solid foundation – covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded an AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting. This internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians).

This flexible apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you can go to the AAT site for a skills checker to see it right for you.

What’s involved

There are four units of study, these modules are:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping

  • Principles of Bookkeeping

  • Principles of Costing

  • The Business Environment

There are computer based exams and a synoptic assessment drawing on your knowledge and understanding that you have gained from the course.
