The 2020 Big Give Christmas Challenge has raised a record £20 MILLION in just one week!

An annual tradition of giving

Since being set up by Sir Alec Reed in 2007 the Big Give has helped raised over £130 million for great causes, with the long term goal of reaching £1 billion!

The Big Give runs campaigns throughout the year, but it is the annual Christmas Challenge each December that brings in the most attention and donations – often helped by the publicity from celebrities championing their own causes, as the video demonstrates.

Supported by Reed

Since Sir Alec Reed founded the Big Give, Reed continues to support the match-funding platform in several ways:

The Big Give HQ is based in our reed.co.uk (Reed Online) offices, and our co-members there support the technical aspects of running the website.

Many of the projects showcased on the Big Give platform are match-funded by the Reed Foundation – the charitable arm of the Reed group that owns 18% of the company.

Almost every Reed office and its co-members support specific charities/campaigns during the Big Give Christmas Challenge and other key campaigns.

Our 2020 charities

For the Christmas Challenge 2020, Reed supported Kids Out; raising money for toys and food vouchers for child refugees. With the help of co-members activities (raffles, sales days, quizzes and more!) Kids Out were able to achieve their fundraising target of £10,000.

Reed Online (reed.co.uk) have been holding a range of activities to raise funds that support homeless people through charity, The Passage. While working from home co-members have taken part in a range of fundraising activities including fancy dress and photography competitions…The Reed Foundation acted as the champion organisation for The Passage in this appeal, providing match funds to some very generous donations. The funds of the Reed Foundation itself are made up of 18% profits from the Reed Group.
