We’re looking for a forward-thinking and driven Estates Campus Manager to lead the transformation of one of our key campuses while driving sustainability initiatives across the wider organisation.

This is a unique leadership opportunity combining operational excellence with environmental impact. Perfect for someone passionate about both facilities management and creating a greener future.

About the Role

In this dual-impact role, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and development of a large educational campus while also acting as the organisation’s lead for Environment and Sustainability.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering our Net Zero strategy, ensuring our estates are not only fit for purpose today but future-ready for generations to come.

Key Responsibilities

Environment & Sustainability Leadership

  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s decarbonisation and Net Zero strategy
  • Oversee waste management and recycling programmes, driving landfill reduction and sustainable practices
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, carbon output, and energy usage
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions and technologies to improve sustainability across sites

Campus & Facilities Management

  • Lead, develop, and manage the estates team, including recruitment, performance, and training
  • Plan and deliver maintenance, repair, and capital works programmes
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, statutory regulations, and environmental standards
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and efficient resource use

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee emergency planning and procedures, including PEEPs and site safety protocols
  • Manage external contractors, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and safeguarding
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver a safe, efficient, and high-performing estates function

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has significant experience in estates or facilities management, ideally within an educational environment
  • Has experience managing large, diverse teams
  • Is confident in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
  • Has experience with sustainability initiatives and environmental management
  • Can carry out audits, inspections, and compliance checks
  • Holds a Facilities Management qualification and Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal systems

An Environment & Sustainability qualification is desirable, but support will be provided for the right candidate to achieve this.

If your experience doesn’t align perfectly but you’re excited by the role and confident you can make an impact, we’d still love to hear from you.
